Author Guidelines

SCOPE

Revista Saberes Internacionales accepts original, previously unpublished contributions in Spanish, in the areas of education, humanities, social sciences and professional development. Submissions may not be under simultaneous consideration by another publication.

The journal does not charge any fee for submission, processing or publication (no APC applies).

SECTIONS AND LENGTH

Research articles: 5,000 to 8,000 words, including references.
Academic essays: 4,000 to 7,000 words.
Pedagogical experiences: 3,000 to 6,000 words.
Book reviews: 1,000 to 2,000 words.

FILE FORMAT

Microsoft Word document (.docx). Times New Roman 12 pt, 1.5 line spacing, 2.5 cm margins, justified text, numbered pages. Do not use templates or complex automatic styles.

MANUSCRIPT STRUCTURE

Title in Spanish and English, maximum 15 words, clear and without abbreviations.
Abstract in Spanish (resumen) and in English, up to 250 words each, stating objective, methodology, main results and conclusion.
Keywords: four to six, separated by semicolons, in both languages.
Body text. Research articles should follow the structure introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions. Essays and pedagogical experiences may be organized in thematic sections.
References: only those cited in the text.

CITATIONS AND REFERENCES

APA style, 7th edition, is used for both in-text citations and the reference list. Including the DOI of sources that have one is recommended. References must be verifiable: nonexistent, misattributed or unchecked automatically generated sources are not accepted.

TABLES AND FIGURES

Numbered sequentially, with a title above and the source below. They must be inserted at the corresponding point in the text and also submitted in editable format. Images must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. If third-party material is reproduced, the author must hold the corresponding permission.

AUTHOR DATA

At the time of submission, each author must register on the platform: full name, institutional affiliation, city, country, institutional email and ORCID iD. ORCID is mandatory for all authors and can be obtained free of charge at orcid.org.

A maximum of five authors per submission is allowed, unless the nature of the research justifies a larger number.

ANONYMITY FOR REVIEW

Since evaluation is double-blind, the manuscript file must not contain any information identifying the authors, whether in the text, notes or document properties. Self-citations must be written in the third person. Authorship data is registered only in the platform metadata.

REQUIRED STATEMENTS

The end of the manuscript must include: a conflict-of-interest statement, indicating whether one exists or not; a funding statement, indicating the source of funds or their absence; and a statement on the use of artificial intelligence, indicating to what extent and for what purpose AI tools were used at any stage of the work, if applicable. AI cannot be listed as an author. When research involves human participants, the corresponding ethical approval and informed consent must be stated.

EDITORIAL PROCESS

Preliminary review: the editorial team verifies that the work fits the journal's scope and these guidelines, and performs an originality check. Submissions that do not meet these requirements are returned without proceeding to evaluation. Estimated time: 15 days.

Peer review: approved submissions are sent to two external reviewers under double-blind review. In case of conflicting opinions, a third reviewer is consulted. Estimated time: 60 days.

Editorial decision: the outcome may be acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection. The decision is communicated to the author along with the anonymized review reports.

Copyediting and publication: accepted works undergo copyediting and layout, and a final proof is sent to the author before publication.

SUBMISSION

Submissions are made exclusively through the journal platform, after registering as an author. Submissions by email are not accepted.

  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Artículos de investigación

Trabajos originales e inéditos que presentan resultados de investigación empírica o teórica, con marco metodológico explícito, evidencia verificable y discusión de resultados. Ensayos académicos

Reflexiones argumentadas sobre problemas teóricos, conceptuales o de política educativa, sustentadas en literatura académica actualizada. Se valoran la originalidad del planteamiento y el rigor de la argumentación. Extensión de 4.000 a 7.000 palabras. Se someten a revisión por pares de doble ciego.

Experiencias pedagógicas

Sistematización de prácticas de aula, proyectos institucionales o intervenciones educativas, con descripción del contexto, la metodología aplicada, los resultados obtenidos y las lecciones aprendidas. Extensión de 3.000 a 6.000 palabras. Se someten a revisión por pares de doble ciego.

Reseñas de libros

Reseñas críticas de obras académicas publicadas en los últimos tres años en las áreas de interés de la revista. Deben ir más allá del resumen: situar la obra en su campo, evaluar su aporte y señalar sus límites. No se reseñan obras del propio fondo editorial. Extensión de 1.000 a 2.000 palabras. La aceptación corresponde al equipo editorial.
